History

Trimmings N Remnants was founded in 1979 by the Bishop Family. Commencing with a single small shop front in Cumberland road Pascoe Vale, sourcing products from local manufactures ‘overruns’ and as word of mouth spread, the business grew quickly and moved to larger premises in Cumberland road. The demand for product continued to grow and Trimmings N Remnants began sourcing worldwide to add to locally sourced products, offering loyal customers an expanded range.

An excellent relationship with customers and suppliers has always been a hallmark of the company and it was via such a relationship that the Bishop family sold the business to the Quittner family in 2004. Angela Quittner had been a customer of Trimmings N Remnants throughout the 1980’s sourcing fabric and trims to create costumes for her students from several dance schools. Meanwhile the Quittner family was supplying Trimmings N Remnants with elastics, cords, tapes and braids and Angela always said to Bev Bishop  “Let us know if you ever want to sell this business”.

The rest is history and the Quittner family have continued and built upon the tradition of Trimmings N Remnants to offer as wide a product range as possible to its ever growing customer base.
